Who we are

Morning Coffee is operated by Three Leaves Technology, currently unincorporated, based in the United Kingdom. Under UK data protection law, Three Leaves Technology is the data controller — the organisation legally responsible for your personal data described on this page.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we collect:

  • First name: to address verification and invite emails
  • Email address: to send verification and, if you confirm, your invite
  • Role (selected from a list): to understand our early audience
  • The date and time you joined: a record of when you gave consent
  • How you found us: if you arrived from one of our marketing links (for example from a newsletter or social post), we note where it came from so we know which channels are working. We don't use this to build a profile of you.

We also briefly note your IP address (a number that identifies your internet connection) to block spam bots and other automated abuse. We don't keep it once the form has been submitted.

We use your data with your consent — the legal basis set out in UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a). By submitting the waitlist form and clicking the link in the email we send you, you agree to us:

  • Adding you to the Morning Coffee waitlist
  • Sending you one verification email to confirm your address
  • Sending you an invite when the private beta opens

We do not send marketing newsletters, share your address, or use it for any purpose beyond the above without separately asking for your consent.

How long we keep it

We keep your record for 18 months from the date you joined the waitlist, or until you request deletion — whichever comes first. If the beta opens and you receive an invite, we'll ask separately whether you'd like to become a subscriber; your waitlist record is deleted once that transition is complete or you decline.

Sub-processors

Sub-processors are outside companies we use to run Morning Coffee. Each one handles some of your personal data on our behalf:

Service Purpose Country
Loops Email delivery and contact storage US
Cloudflare Hosting, security, analytics, file storage US / EU
Sentry Tracks technical errors so we can fix them (servers in the EU) EU

When data is sent to providers in the US, it's covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) — legal terms approved by the UK government to keep your data protected when it leaves the country.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • See your data: ask for a copy of everything we hold about you
  • Have it deleted: ask us to remove your record (sometimes called "the right to be forgotten")
  • Correct it: tell us to fix anything we've recorded incorrectly
  • Pause it: ask us to stop using your data while we sort out a dispute
  • Take it with you: get your data in a format other services can read
  • Withdraw consent: change your mind at any time. Any use of your data up until that point stays lawful, but we'll stop using it from then on.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@getmorningcoffee.app with "Data request" in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you across other sites — that's why this site has no cookie banner: there's nothing for you to consent to. We don't set any advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing we save in your browser is the marketing link that brought you here, and only while you're still on the site (it's cleared the moment you leave).

Complaints

If you think we've handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to the UK data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of the page. We won't start using data we've already collected in new ways without telling you first.

Morning Coffee is intended for readers aged 18+.
